Backpacking 

Hiking:

If it’s hiking with your four legged friend on a weekend or trekking up South Sister that suits your lifestyle Peak Sports can fulfill all your hiking needs. We can get you set up with the right shoes, socks, clothing, trekking poles, emergency kit, food, water bottle and a pack to carry it all! Your four legged wonder may also need a pack, try one out from Ruffwear along with some booties to protect his paws. And don’t forget, hiking doesn’t end in winter; you just have to use snowshoes. Backpacking:

Whether you are the PCT ultra-light hiker or a weekend warrior, we have all your backpacking needs at Peak Sports. We’ve got the latest in ultra light gear from Gregory and Granite Gear, sil-nylon stuff sacks, titanium cook wear, and more. (Bring your scale!) If you enjoy bringing the comforts of home on your backpacking adventure, we can get you fitted for a standard internal frame backpack made to carry up to 60 pounds comfortably. We have staff on hand that have lived their lives in Oregon and can recommend many backpacking adventures or come in and talk with our staff about thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).

Climbing:

Rock climbing doesn’t have to be a mission impossible. It can range from kids school playgrounds to Smith Rocks, indoor gyms to bouldering in Joshua Tree. Whatever it is that you climb on Peak Sports can help you get geared up. We offer a wide range of products from Metolius, Petzl, Black Diamond, Mad Rock, Five Ten and more. We have local climbers on staff that can tell you where to find good climbing in our immediate area. Come in and visit.

Camping:

Instead of buying that off-brand tent that weighs 20 pounds, or that cotton sleeping bag that rolls up to the size of a Labrador, treat yourself to durable, high quality products made by companies such as Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, and Sierra Designs. These brands have been industry leaders for years and know what it takes to produce warm, compressible sleeping bags and lightweight tents that withstand abuse from wind, rain, snow and even kids. Our sleeping bags range from 0 to 40 degrees F, and we offer 1, 2, 3 and 4 person tents. So whether it’s snow camping by yourself or the family camping trip at the lake, we’ve got you covered.

Don’t forget the important accessories such as headlamps, sleeping pads and water filters. Our staff would be happy to explain the differences between the products and help you get the gear that best suits your adventures.

Travel:

We offer a large variety of luggage and travel accessories to fit your needs whether you’re flying around the world or going on a road trip. Our selection of Eagle Creek wheeled and non-wheeled luggage and accessories plus beautiful purses and wallets for men and women from Ellington Leather will get you where you’re going. For those who want a little pizzazz in their traveling life we’ve got wheeled luggage and accessories from Dakine in all sorts of fun prints and plaids! Come in and check out all the wonderful products that can improve your travel experiences.

Disc Golf

If you like to throw a Frisbee and are intrigued by the game of golf, give Disc Golf a try! Disc Golf is one of the fastest growing recreational activities in America. Oregon boasts having some of the best courses in the country. Corvallis alone has two local courses to choose from. Most of our staff in the outdoor store play Disc Golf and are ready to answer any of your questions and help get you set up with the proper discs. We have hundreds of Innova discs to choose from as well as disc bags, and we can special order baskets, too. Not from Corvallis, check out the Professional Disc Golf Associations website (www.pdga.com) for a list of courses in your area. We’ll see you on the course!

Accessories:

Peak Sports has all of your camping, hiking, backpacking, climbing, and travel accessories. We carry daypacks of all shapes and sizes from Timbuk2, Sherpani and Dakine, just to name a few, including kid packs and kid carriers from Kelty. For the four legged friend, our dog section offers many choices of collars, leashes, fetch and chew toys, life vests, backpacks, food and water bowls and even books on where to take them for dog friendly hiking adventures! Our brands include Ruffwear, Canine Hardware and Silverfoot. Plus, you don’t have to tie your furry friend up to a post outside, bring them in. We’d love to meet your dogs and assist in any fitting needs you have.
